Do I need Twirl? Is it going to make my life any easier?

This keeping up with all of the social networking is killing me. I think I need to hire an Internet social secretary just to keep up with my Twitters, Tweets, and Utterz.
Now I have done the unthought of and joined facebook (Deborah Fisher.Fisher & Company) so I will need to set that up as well.
Good Lord, how am I ever going to keep it all up?? How do y'all do it? Is anyone getting any work done?
To add to my busy Internet social life, I am going to be doing a mobile web in the next few days. That's probably going to eat up some of my time.
Please help me decide if I need Twirl. Here's what I am using at the moment: I use a Macbook Pro and a Vista OS LTPC, so I can sit here, work on one and keep several windows open at once and see what is going on. Plus I have the Blackberry Curve which does a great job for me. (Want an iPhone, don't want the provider.)
Oh, yeah . . I also have a FLIP that I just bought. I need to factor that into the mix. I am lovin' that thing.
Do I need Twirl? Someone please let me know.
You can Twiiter me @deborahfisher
Thanks.

Yes you do need Twirl. The great thing about Twirl is that it auto-updates so you don't have to refresh your web page. On top of that, it allows you to shorten any link you may add to your "mini-post". I use it, it runs in the background and notifies me when someone I follow has updated. Makes life a lil bit easier.
Okay, but I have a widget on my blog that already auto updates, and I get messages to my blackberry when people tweet.
The one advantage or differnce I see is being able to twirl links to people, correct?
Deborah- I've been totally resisting all these social networking options. It's just toooooo time consuming. How much is too much??? I also have this little nag thing going on about being out there thatmuch. I know they all claim "no spam" but somehow it all finds it way to my inbox, or used to find it's way. I started using a program called MailWasher (see my blog if your interested) which has been an enormous help. Anyway, I guess I'm just slow to jump in and have adopted a wait and see attitude. My guess is you're the jumping in kind ;-) so go for it and let us know if you find it worthwhile.
Gail, thanks for the post. I don't think that when I started this social networking project as a test marketing case that I would get this sucked in. It is really time consuming . . . just blogging takes time. Plus I like to read other blogs and post comments there. I am a fast reader, but . . .
I am just now completing FACEBOOK for our company. I can't believe how easy it is, but I can see that this will be something else to suck me in and take up my time. I think updates will be very improtant as keeping the content fresh is critical. I am looking at it as just another website. Conetent needs to be changed frequently to keep people coming back.
Gail, I will add you as an associate and let you know what happens here.
Happy marketing! Stay social!
Thanks Deborah - I do keep an open mind to the social process, it just the time required is hard to find sometimes. I really enjoy A|R and probably spend more time than I should. Like you I enjoy reading other posts and always aim at reciprocating back. I added you as an associate as well and sent you an email regarding what category to put you in. How about Social Anomaly ;-)
You are too funny! I love it. Honestly, we really have to have a sense of humor to keep us creative and help us laugh not only at others but at ourselves. I am glad that you don't take yourself too serious!
I look forward to settling down and reading some of your posts later tonight.
Deb, If you are feeling in to much a twirl with your other sites, leave twirl out for now. When feeling more relaxed, then maybe give twirl a whirl. Mike
Mike, thanks for the chuckle. Nicely done. Good one.
